Maine’s timber industry is huge but also traditionally male dominated. The Axe Women Loggers of Maine are a team of talented and skilled female athletes showing that they too can do exactly what the men can. Their specialty? Timber sports!

The sports include, axe throwing, chopping, sawing, and log rolling.

The doc called Axe Women: The Modern Lumberjill,  will feature a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into these competitions and the heart behind why each female is a competitor.

Most of the LumberJills are Moms will full time jobs and each of them have a reason on why they compete, as per the article.

Breanna Wing who is a Maine native is set to put out a documentary that will raise awareness on the Axe Women Loggers of Maine.

The film sheds light on this historically, male-dominated sport of timber sports. The doc will celebrate these female athletes and their talent while highlighting the logging industry and culture in Maine.

Breanna studied film, as per the article and was inspired to show off the Axe Women's dedication and she hopes her film will empower viewers to see how strong these women truly are.

These exceptional woman are paving the way for the next generations of young girls to understand that there is nothing they can't do.
