According to the KJ, Portland Hunt & Alpine owners Briana and Andrew Volk have plans to open a new eatery inside the Main Street Commons in Waterville.

The restaurant will be called 'Verna's All Day', described as a casual, classic American chop house that will offer locally sourced seafood, steak and other entrees as well as classic cocktails.

The KJ reports that wine, local beer and other convenience items will also be featured in the small market and deli-cafe where customers will be encouraged to socialize, eat and study.

If you're wondering why they're calling it "Verna's", it is being named after co-owner Briana Volk's late grandmother, and she plans to make the eatery have a welcoming and warm feel to it, much like the home of her late grandmother.

Occupying 4,000 square feet at 150 Main Street, Verna's All Day will be between the Chase Community Forum and Camden National Bank. But, don't expect to grab a bite anytime soon, the opening date isn't expected until the end of the year.
