As a Maine citizen, I can say with certainty that our skin is so thick that I am surprised that we even feel the cold temperatures anymore.

We are so used to it that many of us even wear shorts and crocs-no-socks year round.

You have to be a Mainer to get it.

Living through the cold winter months in regions like Maine has become a way of life for us. Year after year, the huge arrival of that first snow brings the familiar feel of, "it's time." We strap up our bean boots, zip up our fleece jackets, and carry on.

The blend of anticipation and preparation is clearly evident and second nature.

This year seems like many of the others because, due to some of my research, the Old Farmer's Almanac says that our winter season of 2024 is marked to be cold, colder, and coldest with snow, snow and more snow.

Are you surprised? I'm not either.

As the temperatures drop and our lawns become blanketed in snow, our ability to adapt and thrive in the conditions is wicked cool.

The Old Farmers Almanac is literally calling this upcoming season a, "Winter Wonderland."

Now, this is just from the Old Famer's Almanac so you could be seeing or reading conflicting reports. But that's how it is here up north, you never do know, until you know.

According to the post, anticipate an above-average snowfall, accompanied by colder-than-usual temperatures. What's new?

If you want to take a look at the upcoming sweater weather, head on over to the Farmer's Almanac now!
