The American Academy of Pediatrics is changing the recommended amount of time a child stays in a rear-facing car seat.

In an article published in the November issue of Pediatrics magazine, the AAP is now recommending a child stay in a rear-facing until they reach the height or weight limit for that specific car seat.

Previously, they suggested a child stay in a rear-facing car seat until the age of two.
