Sounds like a classic joke set up but a naked firefighter really did walk into a 7-Eleven and he bought a Coke.

The naked firefighter in question is 60-year-old Captain John H. Walsh of Lynnfield, Massachusetts.

According to WMTW, he went in on a dare from his 29-year-old girlfriend, Tammy McDougall.

Apparently, Walsh had told McDougall that walking into the convenience store naked was legal in Rhode Island, where they were visiting. He is now on paid administrative leave.

Rhode Island does appear to have indecent exposure laws, Per Title 11:

§ 11-45-2. Indecent exposure – Disorderly conduct.

(a) A person commits indecent exposure/disorderly conduct when for the purpose of sexual arousal, gratification or stimulation, such person intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly:

(1) Exposes his or her genitals to the view of another under circumstances in which his or her conduct is likely to cause affront, distress, or alarm to that person;

(b) Any person may be a complainant for the purposes of instituting action for any violation of this section. This act shall not apply to any conduct between consenting adults where the complainant is an unintended witness;

The law goes on to say that anyone found guilty will be imprisoned for no more than a year, fined no more than $1,000, and will have to attend counseling.

Maybe think twice before accepting a dare next time, Captain.
