Rob Gordon is a friend.  To me, personally, yes.  But also to you.  Maybe in a personal way but, if not, certainly in a "community way."  As executive director of the United Way of Kennebec Valley, his mission is to execute the goals of an organization that helps so many groups that, if they don't help one you're involved with, then you must not be involved in much!

From the Boy Scouts to the YMCA to food pantries and more, the United Way is there to help keep great organizations running. It's with your help, that continues happening and, if you don't already give, you can get information and forms at their website.

Saturday, there will be an e-waste collection from 9-3 at the Augusta Civic Center's lower parking lot. Electronics that you just need to get rid of will be collected and all they ask for is a small donation. This will keep the community warming center open this winter in downtown Augusta. If you'd like items picked up, they will do it for a nominal $25 donation. Call 458-2467. If you have any other questions, call the United Way at 626-3400.

Below is the, very moving, 2013 campaign video. I was honored that Rob asked me to voice the opening. Enjoy and, if you can, please give generously.
