According to WABI TV 5, Thomas College in Waterville will be unveiling a state-of-the-art athletic facility in 2022.

According to staff and students alike this will be a much-anticipated upgrade. Currently, because of the sheer number of students, Thomas College athletic teams cannot train together in the weight rooms because they need to leave room for other students to work out who aren't on a sports team.

These changes will also bring some relief to the Harold Alfond Center on North Street in Waterville as fewer Thomas students will need to go there to get there much-needed workouts in.

Kyle Gleason of Thomas College's baseball team said, “We might have one practice until midnight one day. The next practice we might be at 2 in the afternoon. You just never know. It kind of changes by week. It’s definitely that next step to give the athletes, to give the students the opportunity to train that they need, the space that they need, the training rooms. Everything they need to improve the Thomas program and just improve the Thomas community as a whole."
