What in the heck has been going on this winter? It seems like every single time we get some snow in the forecast is is never enough to facilitate any fun winter activities.

At least as far as Central and Southern Maine are concerned, this '23 / '24 winter season has been an undeniable bust when it comes to snow. And it seems, at least for the near future, that trend will continue.

As I was perusing the news and weather this morning, I noticed that most of Maine is slated to get snow later today. At first I got a little excited that I might be able to toss the old Fisher V plow on the truck and go 'drop her hard' as Bob Marley would say, but sadly, that won't be the case.

According to the weather blog at WGME 13, snow, with some rain for the immediate coastline, will move into Maine Thursday night and hang around through midday on Friday.

While it could potentially by exciting for some people that Maine is getting more snow, the accumulation amounts are going to be, well, pathetic. Most of Maine will only see a coating to an inch while further western and northern spots could see 1-3".

And, what we do get for snow will be melting pretty quickly as temperatures will climb near the 50s as we head into next week.
