In honor of feeling nostalgic today, we've brought back this article from June of 2020. It went a little something like this...

(June, 2020) According to a Facebook post and picture from Kayla Nadeau, there was an apparent incident on the Neck Road in Benton where an 18-wheeler carrying animal carcasses was forced to rapidly apply its brakes. This evidently resulted in the vehicle losing some of its cargo into the roadway. According to some of the comments on Facebook, it's speculated that these are carcasses of farm animals such as cows, pigs etc.

According to eyewitness reports, there were some vehicles passing by that got hit with some of the remains, as well as the tractor trailer itself being covered in the putrid mess. At last check, the driver of the 18 wheeler had pulled over and was waiting for PD and a cleanup crew to come assist.

I'll be the first to tell you that crap happens. I'm sure it was an absolute accident and while it is certainly gross for those that have to drive by and see (and smell) what is going on, we have all had bad days and days we wish we could forget. I mean, just last week I was knee deep in my own waste at beaver Brook Campground- So I can totally relate.

In the meantime, if you're in the Benton area, it may be a good idea to avoid the Neck Road near Assistance Plus for the time being. The incident did occur more than an hour ago, so we're not certain on where they're at with the cleanup efforts at this time.
