According to WMTW, a much deserving Maine family were the recipients of a random act of kindness and received the gift of a lifetime. Tunnel to Towers Foundation, a New York-based foundation, started to honor firefighters who lost their lives on 9/11.

11 years ago, U.S. Army Private First Class Buddy McLain lost his life in the line of duty while serving Afghanistan. Buddy left behind a young son and his wife, Chelsea Mclain. Chelsea, who resides in Peru, Maine, with her son Owen was surprised to find out that she was 1 of 20 recipients having their mortgage paid in full by the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

Each recipient was gifted this amazing and random act of kindness just days before Memorial Day, making it that much sweeter as they remember the loved ones they lost far too soon.
