The USS Augusta will officially join the active fleet this Saturday, September 30. A ceremony will be held in Eastport, Maine, according to USS Augusta Commissioning! Tickets are FREE but you do have to register to save your spot here! 

According to the website, this is event is open to the public but all guests must have a ticket and photo ID to attend! The ceremony will be held at 10 am and directly following will be a reception.

These ships are so cool, fast, and agile and are designed for missions near the shore to handle any modern coastal threats as the site states.

Excitingly enough, this massive ship The USS Augusta is named after the city of Augusta, Maine, highlighting the state's maritime heritage. Chief Justice Leigh Saufley will sponsor the ship.
