Big Apple Robbery in Augusta on Civic Center Drive
The Augusta Police Department responded early this morning (Oct. 20) to a reported robbery at the Big Apple, Civic Center Drive.
According to the police department press release, an undisclosed amount of money was stolen from the cash register, by force. No weapon was displayed. No injuries resulted from the incident.
A State Police K-9 was called to assist with tracking the suspect to a nearby residence, where 28-year old Brain Coutu, of Rhode Island, was taken into custody and charged with robbery.
Brian Coutu’s bail was set at $10,000 cash, before he was transported to Kennebec County Jail for holding.
Also, 32-year old Leo Coutu, was also taken into custody for outstanding arrest warrants. Those were not related to the robbery.
