Augusta Man Arrested In Connection With Monday Morning Fire

According to a press release from Maine Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland, 45 year old Larry Doyen was arrested following an early Monday morning fire at his Western Avenue apartment.

According to police, a cardboard box inside Doyen's apartment had been set on fire.

A sprinkler system activated, keeping the damage to a minimum, but nine other tenants had to spend the night elsewhere.

Following his arrest, Doyen was taken to the Kennebec County Jail.  He is expected in court today (March 9h).
