Camp Out Hunger Starts Tomorrow, Here’s What We Need From You
Can you believe we are on the eve of the third annual Camp Out Hunger? Neither can we.
The event, if you're familiar with the last two years, will look almost exactly the same as it has in the past. You may notice three campers this year instead of two though (welcome, Lizzy Snyder!).
And while who and what you'll see there will remain the same (we're even expecting a cameo from Renee Nelson) it's important to remember that the mission does, too.
Since the pandemic began, the overall picture of what hunger looks like in Central Maine has changed. Just in Central Maine the need for food has skyrocketed. The Salvation Army tells us that even double-income households have been reaching out to them in need of help. It's tough out there right now..
This year, more than ever, we need Central Mainers to come through for their community and stop in and make a non-perishable food or monetary (or both!) donation to help us end hunger once and for all.
In addition to non-perishable human food, we've also partnered with Spectrum Generation to send some dry pet food their way for the Meals on Wheels program.
We can't wait to see you anytime between Tuesday and Saturday this week at Sam's Club in Augusta! (11-2 through 11-6)
Here's what last year's event looked like!
