According to the KJ, a computer virus has frozen the city's computer network and forced Augusta City Center to close today (April 18th)

The virus struck at about 3 AM on Thursday, locking the computer network.  Some of the things affected include general assistance, billing, and assessor’s records.

Officials say there is no concern for public safety.

Despite the issues, many city facilities are still open and operating including the library and the Buker Center.  The city council meeting scheduled for tonight is still expected to take place.
