I Finally Got To Chug Maine Chaga, This Is What Happened
Back in December, I published an article on our website titled, This Mainers is Putting Chaga in Tea To Bring People Some Extra Health Benefits. I had no idea what Chaga was at the time. When I came across it, I thought I was staring at a poop mushroom.
But I was wrong, because what doesn't glitter can be gold to. The outward appearance of Chaga is, well, ugly but the benefits are heroic. I read many testimonials and spoke to the Chaga Mann, Russ Ames and he made me aware of the benefits of this mushroom. Russ created his own Chaga business, where he forages for the mushrooms, and sells it for health benefits. For his example, he makes it into a tea!
Russ started to chop the Chaga down into bits and make tea out of it. After I posted the article I continued with my interesting life. But then, today, a month after posting the article, I received a mysterious package in the mail.
It said, "Ty Lizzy, You Rock" I didn't recognize the address it came from either.
My cat loves to lay on paper, so this is Charli Benedict Cumberbatch. I brought the package into the studio, made sure it wasn't anthrax and opened it on-air.
I was so pleasantly surprised and knew I had to try this tea immediately. Funny enough, I have had some inflammation in my stomach lately. Maybe I've been eating too much salt or something but I need it to go down.
So, I went into the break room, heated up some water, steamed my tea and chugged my Chaga. It was very delicious! I added some sugar but didn't really need it. I can't believe I drank a mushroom that grows on the side of birch trees!
Chaga is,
"believed to have potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, making it a potential alternative remedy for things like arthritis and high blood pressure. It may also help lower blood sugar and even slow the progression of cancer cells. Chaga may also help: Ease inflammation."
That is according to WebMD. So why not try it?
I am going to drink it every day for 5 days and see if it helps. I love uncovering new and amazing things that our beautiful state has to offer us.
It's almost like, we're living off the land and mother nature has provided. Thank you Mother Nature and Russ Ames for sending this thoughtful gift that will hopefully "unbloat" my stomach.
