Five years after the beloved toy store chain filed for bankruptcy, and four years after the chain liquidated its stores, Toys-R-Us is back!

For several years, we have been hearing rumors that the loved international toy store chain would be making a comeback.  And, back in July, it was announced that, by fall, many Macy's stores would feature Toys-R-Us pop-up stores.

A quick check of the Macy's website shows that many of the chain's stores already have these pop-ups. Now, according to WCSH 6, they are planning an official launch party for these pop-ups.  The event will also double as a birthday party for Geoffrey, the chain's mascot.

The celebration will run between Saturday, October 15th, and Sunday, October 23rd, and will feature  daily activities and a game / contest where kids can win prizes.

The article explained that the chain website said:

Kids can embark on an in-store adventure by helping Geoffrey find some of his favorite toys! Find all of the toys and win a prize.  Join us for a nine-day extravaganza of oh-so-fun events, including cool activities for the kids, giveaways, a store scavenger hunt, and more!

According to the News Center Maine article, the Macy's store at The Maine Mall in South Portland will be one of the participating locations.

According to the Macy's website, participating locations in New Hampshire include the Mall At Rockingham Park, Pheasant Lane, Mall Of New Hampshire, and the Fox Run Mall.  And, Massachusetts locations include South Shore Plaza, Square One, Emerald Square, Kingston Collection, Dartmouth, Solomon Pond, Hanover, and the Macy's on Cape Cod.
