WATCH: The James Kiddos Meet Their New Puppy For The First Time

Is there anything better than the feeling of a brand new puppy walking into your home for the very first time? Okay, maybe winning the Powerball, but that's a big maybe.

Let me give you just a little bit of a backstory on this if I may. Back in December of 2022, we lost our Great Dane, Rambo. He was seven when he passed away and our children were devastated by the loss.

Rambo died at home, but fortunately it was at night while the kids were sleeping so they never had to 'see' him, if you know what I mean. Fast Forward to February of 2023 and the itch to get another puppy was strong.

Instead of getting another Dane, even though they're amazing dogs, we decided that it was time to take a Golden Retriever for a test drive. We found an amazing reputable breeder and brought our boy Summit home that month.

Fast forward again to 2024 and the urge to get a second dog is burning in the background. I had often thought about getting a second Golden so Summit could have a friend. Also, I'm a glutton for punishment.

We once again found a litter of Goldens from a wonderful local family (it wasn't even a planned litter, imagine our luck). Since we were the first to reach out, we had pick of the litter. We knew we wanted a dark female, and already the name picked out.

Fast forward AGAIN to today, and we picked up our girl, Skye! She fits right into our chaotic household and Summit, the kids and even the cat, love the new addition. Check out the vid below.
