I don't like this at all. My Walkman, which I've had for years, is getting ready to crap the proverbial bed. I can tell because my headphones, intermittently, fail on one side. I know it's the radio because when I smack it, both sides work for a while.

I hate to complain but it effects my performance on the radio. Yup. I said performance. Try not to spit coffee all over your screen.

So, have you ever been listening to music with headphones or earbuds and, suddenly, one side just stops working? Sucks, right? Now, imagine you're talking on the radio. You need to have working headphones (both sides) so you can tell how loud music and other things are on the air relative to your voice. Otherwise, you (the listener) will hear music and not be able to hear what we're saying on the air (which might not be so bad, right?). Conversely, you might hear us and barely hear the music.

Because when we turn the microphone on, the studio speakers turn off (to prevent feedback), all we have is headphones. Get it? So when one side is out, it throws me (and other "jocks") off our game.

There you go. If I suck this morning (hold the one-liners, please), the one-sided walkman is to blame. Just sayin'.
