Three People Injured in Maine UTV Crash That Happened Sunday
Three people were injured in a utility vehicle crash near the Maine town of Solon on Sunday, according to the Kennebec Journal.
The newspaper went on to explain Wednesday morning that the Maine Warden Service was still investigating the crash which happened at about 2:15 am Sunday morning. The KJ says that the warden service got word that there had been a rollover on McCarty Road in Solon.
When emergency officials arrived on the scene they found a 2024 Polaris UTV upside down in the road. The Maine Warden Service said that all three people who were in the UTV were injured in the crash.
The driver of the UTV, 32-year-old Derek Gibbs, suffered an injury to his leg and was taken to Redington-Fairview Hospital in Skowhegan before eventually being transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland.
The other two people that were on board the UTV at the time of the crash were also taken to Redington Fairview Hospital in Skowhegan, but were later released.
At this time, the Maine Warden Service has not identified the two passengers involved in the crash, though they say the crash is still under investigation.
In addition to the Maine Warden Service responding to the crash, they were assisted on scene by multiple other departments including the Somerset County Sheriff's Office, the Solon Fire Department and ambulance crews sent by Redington Fairview Hospital in Skowhegan.
We will continue to keep this story updated as the investigation from the Maine Warden Service wraps up.
