This Year’s Plane Pull Raised Over 200k For Maine’s Veterans
Travis Mills Foundation put on an event this past weekend that blew my mind. I was lucky enough to go to the 4th Annual Plane Pull. That is exactly what you think it is. Over a thousand spectators watched as 41 teams of 20 people attempted to pull a 737 airplane.
These teams walked onto the tarmac to see how fast they could pull this cargo plane across a 20-foot stretch!
The plane they were pulling was FedEx Airplane. The Senior Marketing Consultant, here at 92 Moose, Merry St. Pierre looked at the plane and told me it reminded her immediately of the movie, Castaway. Suffice it to say, I was thinking about Tom Hanks most of the day.
Travis Mills is very near and dear to many peoples hearts,
The Travis Mills Foundation supports recalibrated veterans and their families through various programs that help these heroic men and women overcome physical and emotional obstacles, strengthen their families, and provide well-deserved rest and relaxation.
Moving on, the teams were from all over Maine and beyond. All different companies who raised money to help the recalibrated veterans and their families. These heroes' fought for our country and Travis Mills will fight for them, for the rest of his life.
The day was inspiring. I played music and my son, Bentley was their to witness all of the greatness.
Lee Goldberg, Shannon Moss, and Samantha York were the emcees of the event and without them, the ambiance of the event wouldn't have been as fun and entertaining.
This event was sponsored hugely by Hammond Lumber. Other sponsors were FedEx, Northeast Air, Maine State Hardscaping & Excavation.
The event was a success and the foundation was able to raise over $270,000 dollars for the heroes of our state.
Remember, this was a competition so their of course was a winner. Vigor Strength Studio, a company that "specializes in appointment based semi-private strength training sessions," were the winners! At 4.652 seconds, they had the fastest time!
