Those severe thunderstorms that rolled through Maine yesterday (July 8th) brought us some of the craziest non-winter weather we've seen in several years.

In the span of just a few hours we saw high winds, downpours, and epic chain lightning strikes.  And, it wasn't localized to one part of the state, either.  It seemed like the wild weather hit the entire width of the state and stretched from the Portland area as far north as Bangor.

At the height of the storms, the Wales Fire Department responded to a report of a tree that had been struck by lightning and was still burning - from the inside out!

Units are currently operating at a lightning struck vs tree on Leeds junction road.

Further west, near Rangely, the wind and rain were crazy.  Check out the video of that craziness HERE.

Fortunately, as far as we know, there were no injuries as a result of the storms.
