Young Mainers Receive Gorgeous Dresses for Prom at Belle of The Ball
Prom night. Let's go back, shall we? If you are in your 30s like me, the nostalgia and stress that hits will bring you right back. I can still smell the aqua net hair spray and way too much Britney Spears perfume.
Enjoy a photo of me my girls Meagan and Abi back in 2004 at Lewiston High School's Prom night. We were so cool weren't we. Strapless dressed and boa's were big back then.
For some reason, women specifically have been bred from a young age to believe that prom night is this unforgettable evening that you are going to experience a lot of things.
But now, I am so happy to know that prom night is more of just a fun evening to express yourself and your creative fashion instead of stressing about your date.
But what is the number one item you need in order to feel incredible for prom night? The outfit!
According to WMTW, the annual "Belle of The Ball Boutique Day" was held recently. It is sponsored by Jordan's Furniture, Anton's Cleaners and Enterprise Bank.
This incredible event has been held for 18 years now and had 400 volunteers to help young woman find prom dresses who wouldn't normally be able to buy them, according to the article.
I actually was really grateful to take it because I was worried about how I was going to get a prom dress, I was glad that I was able to find the dress that I wanted in my size.
These young Mainers, are able to try on the dresses with their friends and strut their stuff on the runway and according to the article, once prom is done they return the dresses so they can be lent to another person for next year.
The recipients that attended this event were also gifted with accessories! They received free shoes, and personal stylists, as the article stated.
