Listen, we're a wicked little state up here in Maine (population-wise), so it's always awesome when 'one of us' makes it to the big time of National TV. And, to be fair, there have been hundreds of Mainers that have made it onto national television shows over the years, and tonight it will happen again.

According to WABI TV 5, on tonight's 9 PM episode of Food Network's 'Chopped', Maine's Chef Melissa Chaiken from The Fiddlehead Restaurant in Bangor will be competing. Not only is Mel a chef at the restaurant, she is also a co-owner of the business.

On tonight's episode, Melissa will be one of sixteen chefs that are competing in a comfort food challenge. Now, I don't want to speculate here, but if there's one thing we Mainers know, it's freakin' comfort food. I mean, haven't you been to some of our fairs?

If you can't watch the show live tonight make sure you at least set your DVR to the Food Network tonight at 9 PM. Good luck Melissa and we can't wait to watch you make your national television debut tonight. And, win or lose, we're proud of you!

Hello friends! We just wanted to let you know that Chef Mel will be competing on Chopped on the Food Network on November...
