No laws when drinking "claws"? What about no "claws" at all?

Hard seltzer White Claw exploded in popularity this summer for its light, fruity, refreshing flavors, and of course 5% ABV.

Then came the meme "ain't no laws when you're drinking claws," popularized by YouTuber Trevor Wallace where he drinks White Claw then turns into a stereotype of a dumb, wealthy frat bro going on about how great White Claw is. He also describes it as a "Four Loko that went to private school," which honestly seems pretty spot on.

Check out the hilarious video below, be aware there's some NSFW language.

The meme became so popular that even Portland PD took to Twitter to address the correlation of "claws" and laws.

With the drink exploding in popularity the company is now facing a nationwide shortage according to CNN. Vice President of White Claw, Sanjiv Gajwala told CNN, "White Claw has accelerated faster than anyone could have predicted."

There's no official word when supply will be back up to meet the demand but Gajwala did say that they are working hard to "keep all markets in stock the best we can."

So, if you're looking for your hard-seltzer fix you may want to stock up or be prepared to switch to team Truly, swim with Bon & Viv, or check out one of the new seltzers from PBR or Natty Light. Whatever you do, just know that laws definitely still apply. Drink safely!
