Last night at Mill Park we celebrated community and connection. That is exactly what the Augusta Police Department wanted when they put this event together. Which event am I referring to? The 2nd Annual Augusta Family Fun Night!

The best part about the event was that it was completely free! Normally when events are said to be "free to get in" you then have to pay for everything inside. But no way, this isn't how we do it! Dinner, dessert, and so much was offered to everyone!

We had free hotdogs and hamburgers with chips, being cooked and served by the Augusta Police Officers. For dessert, Darlings Ice Cream Truck was giving away a variety of different ice creams and popsicles!

As you walked into the park you could immediately feel the happiness. We had so many venders and activities. The night was all about coming together and celebrating family and neighbors.

Also big thanks to Coremark, PFG, The National Guard, The Marines, and The Boys and Girls Club.

I had the chance to speak to Ellyne Fleshner, one of the organizers of the event, and she told me that the night was all about the residents of Augusta, community love, and just getting everyone together for a night to say thank you!

How wonderful is that?

92 Moose was their providing the tunes. DJ Sam Hook was entertaining everyone with the hits and Matt and I were there saying hello to everyone!

Officer Brad Chase, the community resource officer for the Augusta Police Statement put the event together with the help of so many others and he told me,

Last night was an awesome example of community. Could not have done it without everyone’s involvement. Big thank you to Ellyne Fleshner and Roger Pomerlau as well as PFG and Coremark. It could not have happened without their generous donations and without their hardworking staff.

This night was a success and so many people pitched in to help make it that way. After all, this was a free event and a big thank you to both the community and the people who provide for us and keep us safe!

2022 Augusta Family Fun Night Was Full Of Love & Community
